He is risen, He is risen indeed! and Happy 1st b-day Adam!

We pray that each one of you had a blessed day dwelling on and giving praise to the Father for the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus! Ours was a day filled with delight as we have so much to be thankful for! Our Sunday school class and morning worship service were incredible and turned our thoughts heavenward, causing us to marvel at the amazing gift of salvation which has been granted to us through Christ's death and resurrection. Our God is great and greatly to be praised!

Adam's 1st birthday was Saturday, but most of the family was pretty tied up, so we celebrated on Friday night and also Sunday afternoon. My parents came over on Friday night and hung out with Adam and I since Stephen was off playing soccer with some of his friends. They brought him this wonderful little fire truck, which was probably his favorite gift of all and a baby swing so that once the weather gets nicer, I can take him outside and push him. Even though it's still rather chilly here, Stephen set up the swing and we were able to take him out for a few minutes. He LOVED it and was a bit sad when he had to go back inside. I can't wait for this winter weather to be gone! On Sunday afternoon, we were able to go to my parents house and have Easter dinner together with them, my sister and Jeff and Jeff's parents, John and Diane. We had a wonderful time of fellowship together and Adam was able to enjoy his first taste of b-day cake. He would NOT get his hands in it, but when someone was feeding him, he really enjoyed it. I thought that he might smoosh it all around and throw it everywhere, but he was being especially neat. Well, that works for me...less clean up! I cannot believe that he is already 1 year old! My, how the time flies! Plus, to think that in 3 short months, our little sweet pea will be here. Well, here are some pics of Adam enjoying some of his new toys. I figured I should probably clarify that although it may look as though he is reaching for a piece of hard candy or a jelly bean, it's actually a gummy pineapple, which we gave him to try on his b-day. Once he tasted that, he would have nothing more to do with the Cheerios. He definitely has a sweet tooth like his mommy! :)

Adam Sledding!

Well, it is starting to warm up a bit here in Pennsylvania! Last week we had an unseasonably warm day and the snow was melting like crazy. I think it was at least in the 60's outside. A friend had given us a little sled and it seemed like the perfect time to try it out. Adam was a little reluctant at first, but after he started going fast, he liked it a lot! He is truly his father's son!

On another note, Stephen has been enjoying his new job a lot. He gets to help all kinds of kids get a second chance at the Pittsburgh Job Corps. His official title is "Career Preparation Specialist". He teaches about 7 classes per week and shuffles a lot of paperwork. It has been a wonderful blessing from the Lord at just the right time!

Piano Time!

A little update and a plea for prayer...

First of all, some of our friends are going through an extreme trial in their lives right now and I would like to ask those of you who may read this to pray really hard for them. Go here to read a bit more about the situation. I don't know what more I can say except that we are praying for you Amy, Allen and baby Simon.

Well, we have arrived in PA and are getting settled in very nicely. I can't believe we've already been here for over 1 week! We've been busy taking care of all the things that go along with a move and an out-of-state one at that. So far, things are wonderful and we are thankful to the Lord for how He has provided overwhelmingly and more abundantly than we could have imagined. I have been meaning to send out an update and decided I'd just better go ahead and not postpone it any longer. Stephen has begun his new job and is really enjoying it. I am loving being a stay-at-home mom and Adam really seems to be enjoying living in this new place. He will be turning 1 year old on the 22nd, so we are getting excited about that! He has changed so much and has learned so many things during this first year. He has really been practicing standing without support these days. I know he will be running around very, very soon which is a little bit overwhelming! Anyway, here are a few pics:

This particular day was really nice (high 60's) so alot of the snow had melted. If we had taken him out the day before, there definitely would've been alot to sled in. It didn't matter though...he had a blast. There will be videos to follow...

Drumroll please...

This morning, we had our 20 week doctor's appointment. Everything went wonderfully with the ultrasound and we found out that I can now run out and buy lots of pink! Yes that's right! We are having a girl!!!! We are both just overflowing with joy and can't wait to meet her! As soon as our ultrasould technician told us, we just squeezed each other's hands. I think I did just to keep from screaming and leaping off the table. :) Either way we would've been thrilled, but it sure will be nice to have both a boy AND a girl. God is so good and has blessed us with another healthy pregnancy up to this point. We have so much to be thankful for!

Adam is filling our lives with more joy each day. He is one of the happiest babies I think I've ever known. He is just taking his time with walking. He will grab onto whatever he can find and sort of maneuver his way around, without really having to keep his balance. Trust me...we're in no rush! :) Plus, that boy can really crawl! I think he is enjoying being able to crawl easily to places easily, so it may be a few more months before he really wants to start walking. He is at the stage where he absolutely LOVES to mimic anything we do. He has mastered kiss, clap, wave and is starting to learn some signs. He has been shrieking at the top of his lungs to get our attention and so we have been trying to teach him other ways to communicate. He's not upset, it's just his way of trying to tell us something, but it really can become obnoxious! :) Sorry I don't have any pics at the moment, but we'll try to put some more up soon.

This is a really busy time for us, so if we aren't very consistent with our posts, I apologize. I promise we'll try our best and keep you posted. We love you all!

It's been a long time!

I know that it's been almost 1 month since our last post and for that, I apologize. All is going extremely well for us and we have sooooo much to praise the Lord for!! I'm not quite sure where to begin, except to say that we will have many, many challenges and major changes taking place during the year 2008. Our new little bundle of joy is still set to arrive at the end of June. All is going extremely well. I feel wonderful and we are just sooo excited about the arrival of this new little one. On February 11, we will hopefully find out whether this baby will get Adam's hand-me-downs or if Mommy will be able to go out and get a whole bunch of frilly dresses, bows and lots of pink!!! :) This pregnancy seems to be going much faster than my first...probably because I have so many things keeping me preoccupied. I suppose we should let y'all know that in approximately 1 month, we will be moving to PA. We are really excited and would be glad to share all the details if you'd be interested in hearing. Just give us a call sometime...we'd love to chat with you and hear about your lives. The best part for me is that I will be able to quit working and stay at home with my sweet little boy. And let me just say that we will be well taken care of with my sister and parents being so close-by! As for Adam, well let me just say, he has brought such incredible joy to our lives, sometimes it's hard to comprehend. He is growing soooo fast and is curious about everything. He is now cruising around everywhere on his knees and is able to pull himself up to a standing position with ease. He is eating so much better and loves to mimic everything we do. He laughs alot and is generally an extremely content, happy boy. He now has 3 teeth, soon to be four. Sorry, I haven't really gotten any good pics of those, but here are some random pics from the past month:

Clap Clap!

OK, so there is not much to this blog post except this video. I suppose that is OK though since most of you who check our blog just want to see videos of Adam anyways. Well, we are happy to oblige.

Here is Adam in Pittsburgh, PA for Christmas. He loves to clap his hands and knows the word. When we say "clap clap" he starts to clap. Also when we sing "Clap your hands all ye babies, shout to the Lord with a voice of triumph" he starts to clap as well. He is learning so much! He does have a ways to go in the coordination department though. We thank God for him every day!
