Adam's dedication...

On Mother's Day, we had the priviledge of having Adam dedicated to the Lord at our church here in Richmond - Grace Community Baptist. What an exciting time! We praise the Lord for the joy he has given us in Adam and are praying that he will grow to fall in love with God and His Word. What a tremendous responsibility we have been given as parents...we are praying even now that God will touch his heart and draw Adam to Himself one day.

For now, I can only rejoice in this tremendous blessing that we have been given. Adam has been such a sweet, adorable baby and has filled our lives with such joy! He is now 11 lbs. 2 oz. and growing! At our last Dr. appointment, he was given 5 shots! Ouch! It was almost too much for me to watch him experiencing that pain, but he really is a tough little boy and cried only momentarily, then was just fine. The hardest part for me was having to go to work immediately after the appointment was over. I just wanted to stay and hold my baby all day and just be there in case he just needed some extra loving...just those motherly instincts I guess... :) Also, he has been sleeping 8-9 hours per night for about 1 month now, which is amazing!! It's incredible how God knows just what we need. I realize that EVERY parent prays that their child will sleep through the night at 4-5 weeks of age, but for me this was especially true. I headed back to work when he was 6 weeks old and was preparing myself for things to change...for Adam to suddenly decide the night before I had to return to work that he would be up every 2-3 hours, but it never happened. In fact, he slept through the night my entire first week back and then on Friday night/Saturday morning he woke up at 3 am. It was as if he knew that Mommy could go back to sleep if she needed to on Saturday...he's so thoughtful, this baby of mine. :) Of course, I know who really gets the credit...what an awesome God we have!

Our little camper...

We took a hike down to the bottom of this beautiful waterfall. We had Adam all bundled up, but had to remove some of the layers because it became such a gorgeous, warm day.

Laughing with Daddy!!

Sitting by the fire...

Our tent...

Well, Adam took his first trip camping last weekend. We journeyed to the Shenandoah Mountains and stayed in a tent at Big Meadows campground. As his mother, I certainly had my inhibitions about the whole thing with him still being so young, but what a trooper!! He was an amazing baby the whole time...you would never have known there was an infant among us! He slept so well and hardly fussed the entire weekend. We were so proud...I think one day we may have a mountain man on our hands. :) He truly seems to love God's creation as much as we do and does so well in the great outdoors.

Smiles!

Adam has started smiling! We are just as happy and excited as he is. These pictures were taken at Maymont Park in Richmond.

He loves his sling carrier...he slept during most of our trip to the park. When we took him out, he was happier than ever and just started smiling like crazy. Im glad we had the camera!

Yes, he still crosses his eyes a bit. He's sooooo cute! We couldn't have asked for a more beautuful and healthy baby. God is so good!

Awww...Grandpa time!
Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma

Last week we were able to go up to Pennsylvania to give Grandma and Grandpa Williams, Aunt Rachel and Great Grandma and Grandpa Weaver. We were also able to take a trip to Hershey and stay at a wonderful resort thanks to Adam's Grandma and Grandpa Kline! It was a wonderful time and Adam did really well traveling and through all the excitement.

We are so blessed!

Well, I thought I'd take a moment to say how incredibly thankful and blessed I am! I have an incredibly wonderful, loving husband and now a beautiful little son. God has been so good - it completely amazes me sometimes! I know I don't deserve such marvelous things, but God has chosen to bless me anyway. Thanks to all of you who have prayed for us, brought us meals, sent us gifts, etc. - the list goes on. It has certainly made our transition into parenthood so much easier and so, even though words can't truly express the depth of my gratitude, we are so grateful and feel extremely blessed by all of you!

Well, Adam is continuing to thrive. He has been sleeping better at night and is overall a very good baby. We are loving him more and more each day! He has started making more faces and smiles at times. Of course, I don't think he realizes that he's smiling, but I like to think that he is laughing with us...or maybe AT us? Either way, I'll take it! :)

Well, on Wednesday we will be leaving for Pennsylvania so that Adam can spend some time with his grandparents and great-grandparents. This will be his first long trip, so we'll see how it goes. He tends to do fairly well in his car seat, so I'm hoping that he will sleep most of the way. I guess we'll see. :) We are all excited though! I guess he'd better get used to traveling, since both of his parents tend to do quite a bit of it!

Sorry that I'm not posting any new pictures, but we'll get some up soon. When we get back from PA, I'm sure we'll have a bunch to choose from, so we'll post some more then. Thanks again to all of you!

Our First Honeymoon

Ok, so this post is a bit late. This video has been sitting on my computer for what seems like a year (We've been married for about a year and 3 months). I'm posting this video for our friends and family who would like to see some of the beautiful places we stayed at and visited during our honeymoon.

I (Stephen) can't help laughing every time I see this video. To enjoy it to its fullest extent, you need to know that Sarah is a bit camera-shy. Also, you need to know that Sarah is the sweetest gal on the face of the planet...just watch and see. Oh, and yes, my car was a giant icicle...and no, I was not in a food line during the Great Depression...just watch.

Adam is 4 weeks old!

Well, Adam is four weeks old and he is doing great! He is eating very well, gaining weight, and has been sleeping very nicely most nights. He usualy only wakes up to eat about twice a night. Praise the Lord!

OK, I know most of what you really want to see on this blog are pictures...well, here are some new ones as well as some videos.
